Just so you know

This blog is mainly for me to muse. You are invited along for the ride and feedback.
If I need to change course, say so.

Can anyone really change course?

Repent is a word that needs broader usage. It means recognizing you are going the wrong way and turning around and going the other direction.

Our standard procedure when caught doing something wrong is to change direction publicly yet not admit to ourselves or to others that we were wrong.

Red flags for this behavior: "I can't recall" "Perhaps I was misunderstood" "That's not what I meant"

Both publicly and privately, it is bothersome.Neither my son nor my President can say "I was wrong" and mean it. I have trouble saying it and meaning it.

When was the last time I saw someone do it?

I think creating 2 lists of the repentant and unrepentant may be in order.

Why I voted for George W. Bush

1- John Kerry and a Republican Congress would do precisely nothing at all.

2- Iraq is George's war - the rest of the world may someday like America again if they think that.

3- Re-electing George W. Bush means the chickens come home to his roost, and he has laid a lot of eggs.

4- Tom Delay's venom now gets spewed at his own party.

5- John McCain wasn't running.

A thought on the Christian attitude toward gays

Do you think it will be easier to witness to Rosie O'Donnell before you burn her at the stake, or after a home-cooked meal at your house over dessert?
